There is a terrible misconception that in order to own a powerful wardrobe you have to spend a lot of money. While I do agree that the attention grabbing displays and the celebrity style cams tend to zoom in on the more pricey looks, you can almost always find a less expensive alternative.

The grass could definitely be greener on the other side in terms of cost, but you would be surprised at the high dollar fashion statements you can create using the clothing and accessories you already have. Every other month or at least every season take the time to shop your own closet to see what items are out of sight and mind. Try “re-pairing” two items that you wouldn’t typically put together and witness the birth of a completely different clothing creation.

Before you go out and spend the big bucks try to style your own stash.

This train of thought requires you to think the very best of yourself (kouture) which will lead to an outward display of personal style that can’t be bought (priceless).

Don’t think for a second that this means your wardrobe each day will look like a constant repeat of the day before. Knowing who you are and learning which fashion finds are most suitable for you should not limit you to just one look. Select a great foundation of staple pieces on which to build your style empire and elevate your wardrobe to the rooftop.
